About Kanamak Hydraulics
Kanamak Hydraulics saw its beginning in 1983 in Garden City, Kansas. Initially founded as an engineering consultation firm, its focus shifted to hydraulic service and repair when president and owner, Kenneth Madgwick, P.E., recognized the need in southwestern Kansas.

Formally educated at Arizona State University and Grove City College in Pennsylvania, Ken worked as a lead engineer for Beech Aircraft in the ’70’s before moving to Garden City, Kansas when he was hired by Bocats Manufacturing as chief engineer. In exploring career options, Kanamak Consulting was formed as a family-owned business in the heart of southwest Kansas. Ken’s son, Stephen Madgwick, P.E., received his degree from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, New York and came to Kanamak in 2012. Together, Ken and Stephen are only a handful of engineers certified by the International Fluid Power Society in Kansas.
Currently, Kanamak Hydraulics provides sales, service, and repair for many major brands and manufacturers of hydraulic systems. Kanamak Hydraulics also provides a full range of engineering and design services for custom hydraulic circuits and products. Other product lines have been added as Kanamak has grown, such as Kioti Tractors, Hustler zero-turn mowers, and Scag zero-turn mowers.
Kanamak’s manufacturing capabilities have grown as well, with a new 10,000 sq. ft. facility to house an array of CNC machines. Kanamak’s flagship brand, Fluidpro, is engineered and manufactured in-house and has produced products such as hydraulic power units, cylinders, reservoirs, and more. Fluidpro products see extensive use in industries such as energy, agriculture, and manufacturing, and have been designed from the ground up for dependency and durability.
